If you’re enjoying Exeter and looking for things to do, you’re in luck. We’ve pulled together a list of activities that our students tell us they love when living and studying in Exeter.
There are plenty of fun things to do in Exeter to stay active. Here are some of the best physical activities in Exeter.
Who doesn’t love crazy golf? You will find crazy golf in most university locations, but this place is one of many fun things to do in Exeter.
This isn’t your average drinks and mini golf kind of crazy golf. Battle it out with a mate or a date with aselection of games including Axe Throwing, Crazier Golf, Augmented Reality Darts, beer and Prosecco Pong.
Well, this is one way of releasing stress! You can experience a 1-hour session beginning with some ninja axes, a fun and easy introduction to axe throwing, moving onto larger hatchets. Not one for doing with one eye shut!
A virtual reality heaven! Escape from studying with a variety of over 50 single and multiplayer experiences, including: horror, simulation, puzzle games and escape rooms. Great fun with a group of friends.
A newly constructed 16 mile, mainly flat cycle and walkway which runs around the entire Exe Estuary trail linking Exmouth, Exeter and Dawlish Warren, with fantastic views along the River Exe. This route provides an exciting opportunity for people to experience cycling or walking around the entire Exe Estuary, appreciating the wildlife, and passing through some beautiful riverside towns and villages.
Discover Exeter in an active way with a guided running tour around the historic city centre, quayside, and riverside. Find the best 5k and 10k running routes and secret paths with host, GB international Duathlete, Triathlete and runner Phil Wylie.
15 minutes away from Exeter, Haldon Forest Park is a great place to get away from the day-to-day city life and refresh your mind. You can rent a Segway to speed a typical walk up and zone out.
Known as the South West’s largest dedicated indoor climbing wall. Quay climbing centre has walls ranging from 7 to 15 metres in height and over 200 climbs to challenge everyone from beginners to the most experienced climbers.
Just around the corner from The Quay Climbing centre, Haven Banks is the perfect area for activity. You can expect kayaking, sailing, a climbing wall, paddle boarding and more.
The ultimate vertical playground – Clip ‘n Climb Exeter’s themed climbing arena provides healthy and challenging climbing fun! With 26 different climbs for you to try there is fun for everybody as you clip in and climb up. You can find Clip & Climb in Exeter Quay area, an Exeter historic area.
Possibly one of the most fun things to do in Exeter. If you love outdoor activities, you are in for a treat. The 120-acre site in Stoke Woods has 18 play areas covering a wide variety of different scenarios to challenge you. Including:
Escape rooms are becoming more and more popular across our locations UK wide, so here are the best in Exeter.
Step into an out of this world adventure with highly immersive escape rooms. Room names include Alice in Puzzleland, The Last Vikings, fourth Samurai and more.
Another gem over on Fore Street, this is the perfect excuse for some flatmate bonding or a standard day or evening out. Check out these rooms to try and escape from:
Parallax- with a difficult level of 4, become a detective to help break free a kidnapped professor!
Timelock– similar theme as Parallax but slightly easier at level 3.
Based on King Street, you can choose from two experiences which are The Shadow Darkens and The Danziger Experiment.
